Treated as a veritable art form, jewelry-making has always been a significant part of Armenian history and culture. Ancient jewelry pieces from Armenia preserved in museums are truly sophisticated masterpieces with rich motifs that tell the story of one of the oldest cultures in the world. Even today, Armenian jewelers take great pride in preserving this tradition. Each design is handcrafted in a small atelier in Armenia by jewelers with over 20 years of expertise to ensure the highest standard in craftsmanship.
Committed to 100% recycled gold by 2023, OUVERTURE is designed with future upcycling in mind to slow the cycle of new production. The circular design process ensures that the brand operates under a zero waste principle. The designs are based on the notion of unity, connectedness, continuity. This connection between forms allows for an easy redesign process.
OUVERTURE is handcrafted in small batches. Many of the designs are exclusively available for pre-order. At the end of each year the little overstock that may be left is either upcycled or recycled.
After years in investment management and consulting, Kris Ter-Ghazaryan started OUVERTURE inspired by the rich traditions of her birthplace, and her passion for fashion and design. Originally from Armenia, Kris has lived in Prague, Boston and New York before making Berlin her home.
